Sunday, March 3, 2013

It should be noted that two meetings are being held to accommodate the schedules of both the Chinese and English programs; however, neither meeting is program specific and students from either program are invited to join one of the two meetings (essentially the same) per their availability. See you there!

Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival

1000 year- old Asian tradition - Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival celebrations have been held throughout Asia for well over 1,000 years. It’s a time to reflect upon the bounty of the summer harvest, the fullness of the moon, and the myth of the immortal moon Goddess, Chang O, who lives in the moon. The Moon Festival is often compared to a sort of “Chinese Thanksgiving” because of its spirit of gratitude and its inclusion of abundant food -including the popular moon cake.

To celebrate, ACCHS is having a short Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival party in room 101 on September 27, 2012 from 12:00 – 1:15pm. There will be lots of moon cakes and refreshments. There will also be an Herbs ID game and lots of fun prizes (please contact Teresa if you will participate in the Heb ID game: tng@acchs.edu).

Additionally, ACCHS will host a Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival pot-luck on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 12:30pm. All students are welcome to join!
