The practice of Taiji Quan functions as a bridge to good meditation. In turn, Qi Gong leads to a dynamic understanding of traditional Chinese medicine through the unification of mind, breath and action.
The Academy hosts single Tui Na, Taiji, and Qi Gong courses that are open to the public. There are no special enrollment prerequisites for Taiji and Qi Gong classes.

The student
learns several foundational stretches, basic ways of
meditation and Qi Gong exercises, and the basic postures
of the traditional short Taiji form. The
class covers the daily practice of Taiji Quan and Qi Gong,
strengthens and harmonizes the body, which enables the student
to learn the energy channels of the body firsthand.
In Taiji Quan, students learn the concept of three into one: “mind, breath, action” and its integral role in their personal lives and professional progress. By practicing Taiji Quan, students learn that simple, graceful, moving meditation takes motivation, dedication, perseverance and sensitivity. Development of these character traits through meditative practice helps students to sustain the rigorous academic program and develop the perception necessary to practice an energetic form of medicine.
